How to keep C1 repop wheel covers on.

Hi everyone. I'm wondering if you guys know a trick to keep these C1 reproduction wheel covers on. I just finished a frame-off on a '61 and in the first 100 miles I was already missing one wheel cover. I have the correct rims with the nubs. I know that the mounting rib that goes over the nubs on these repops isn't as strong as the originals and that's the problem. I'm thinking of trying to bend that mounting rib out a little bit where the nubs are. Also, maybe add some type of adhesive like RTV silicone that's not to aggressive to the nubs??? Any ideas? Thanks Ron

Ron, try running electrical black electrical tape around the edge of the wheel cover. it worked for me.

You shouldn't require any special "tricks" if your wheels are in good shape and the hubcap is not deformed...these repros ran on my 61 for a decade including triple digit sprints around the Sebring track.
