I just bought a 69 conv. with the original 350 / 350. engine that is apart with the original pistons, et. all in boxes. I cannot find evidence it had a windage tray, but the oil pan has a trap door. Is this correct?

1969 L46 did not have a windage tray or trap door oil pan. Oil pan did have a baffle .Larry

thank you, I already took the engine to the machine shop for rebuild, I will check the oil pan, I know it had a baffle, so I will check for the trap door. Distributor tag was missing but it still had the 12 - 360 vacuum advance pod.- Top

This is from my 70 LT-1. Same as my 70 L46 ,which should be the same as your 69.
5 quart pan. No trap door. My LT-1 has a windagevtray. My L46 did not.

Jimmy------
The only C3 Corvettes that ever had an oil pan with a "trap door" internal baffle were very early 1970 LT-1 and all 1970-72 ZR-1. No others.
1970-72 LT-1 and 1973-80 L-82 were equipped with an external baffle (windage tray). In Appreciation of John Hinckley- Top
