2021 Palm Springs Convention - Instructions to Car Owners

On behalf of the NCRS National Convention Team, we thank you for registering your car for the 2021 Palm Springs Convention, July 18th-23rdhttps://www.ncrs.org/convention/parking.php

Trailers will also be parked in this lot. All cars must be staged in the PSCC East Lot by 5:00 pm on Sunday, July 18th. You may cover your car overnight if you wish.

We are hoping to be able to move some cars into the show hall on Sunday. This would only include cars that do not require a functionality check on Monday morning.

The Sunday load-in would occur sometime Sunday afternoon and is optional. You will be advised of the timing onsite. You may be required to be with your car on Monday for possible final placement in the show hall.

    Arrival of Corvettes and/or Trailers
The entrance to the PSCC East Lot is on E. Amado Road. Directions below can be used coming from either the East or the West on Interstate 10 (I-10).

If you are coming from the West, DO NOT FOLLOW YOUR GPS. Your GPS will take you thru downtown Palm Springs on narrow busy streets.

Instead, stay on Interstate 10 (I-10) to the Ramon Road exit. At the bottom of the ramp turn right on Bob Hope Drive, then right again on Ramon Road.

Follow Ramon Road west 6.75 miles to Sunrise Way.

Turn right on Sunrise Way and drive 1.25 miles to E. Amado Road.

Turn left on E. Amado Road and follow it about 0.75 miles. The PSCC East Lot will be on your left, marked with signage, just after you cross N. Hermosa Drive.

If you are coming from the East on Interstate 10 (I-10), take the Ramon Road exit. At the base of the ramp turn left on Bob Hope Drive, then make the next right onto Ramon Road and follow the directions above.

    Trailer Parking
For those of you trailering your Corvette to Palm Springs, trailers will be parked in the secured trailer parking area on the far eastern side of the PSCC East Lot. Trailer parking will be available beginning at 1:00 pm on Saturday, July 17th. Please enter the lot through the E. Amado Road entrance. There will be signs to guide you and a team there in reflective vests to welcome you. They will check your name against a master list of those that paid for trailer parking. If you bring a trailer and did NOT pay in advance you will be able to pay at Registration. Cars may not be removed from trailers until 9:00 AM Sunday, July 18th.

    Registration
Registration packets will be available beginning at 9:00 am on Sunday, July 18th, in the registration area set up in Primrose Ballrooms A and B accessible from the PSCC lobby.

Bill Hetzer has graciously agreed to be our photographer.

    PV Judging Entries
If you have registered your car for PV judging, you need to contact your National Team Leader in advance of the meet to schedule your PV. Team Leader contact information may be found on the inside front cover of your Restorer magazine. All PVs will be scheduled on Monday, July 19th, but it is critical you talk with your Team Leader to confirm your scheduled time. A copy of the PV route will be included in your registration materials.

    Security
Security has been arranged for both the staging area and the trailer parking area beginning at 5:00 pm on Saturday, July 17th and will run 24 hours a day until noon on Friday, July 23rd. Please make sure you wear your badge at all times because the security guards will be checking.

    Car Washing
Subject to local restrictions, there will be a car wash area set up in the PSCC loading dock area accessible through the entrance from Avenida Caballeros.

    Judging Assignments
If you signed up to judge, judging assignments have been offered and all judges have been notified. Judging assignments will be posted by Days on an easel near the Registration desk.

    Important Reminders
If you put a cover on your car overnight, the cover must be removed by 8:00 am on all days of judging. If your car is to be judged, please, please, please bring your own fender covers. You also need to bring whatever tools you need to remove your air cleaner, top ignition shield, spare tire, and anything else the judges will want to look at.

We look forward to seeing you and your car in Palm Springs.

Re: 2021 Palm Springs Convention - Instructions to Car Owners

    Mike;
Thanks for this information. I have two follow-up questions.
    1) For members just driving a car that won't be judged, do they park in the area designated as "Guest Parking?
    2) For people registered for the Convention but who may not have picked up their registration packet yet AND they have paid for "Secure Parking" do they park in the Guest Parking Area first, then proceed to the Secure Parking Area or do they go directly to the Secure Parking Area (perhaps an attendant might have their names on a lost of some type)?
    Thank you! Tom

Thanks Mike, one question, in the PSCC East staging lot, is there covered parking or are all spaces open for the staged cars?

Re: 2021 Palm Springs Convention - Instructions to Car Owners

        Tom,
Thank you for the questions. Yes, for anyone driving a non-judged, non-secure making car, they should just park in the hotel's guest parking area. However, if one has registered for secure parking, they may go directly to the secure parking area. That said, given they will likely have luggage they might want to go to the hotel first, check in, and put the luggage in their room before taking the car to the secure parking area.
        Hope this helps.
        Mike

          Michael,
Unfortunately, there is no covered parking in the PSCC East Lot.

Thanks, the satellite photo showed a white patch in the middle that was not clear what it was.
