    Differences between 1958 8000rpm Tachometers- 290hp vs. 270hp

Hi. I noticed on some of the Corvette parts websites that they sell two different 8000rpm tachometers for 1958 Corvettes. Can someone tell me what the difference is? Is it the different cable end that goes inside the tach? I know that the 8000rpm tachometers are used for either the dual quad the 290hp Fuel Injection Corvettes. One is a distributor driven tach and the other is a generator driven tach.

    Thanks in advance,

    Steve

I think one registers cable speed and one registers twice cable speed. If I remember correctly the 270 horse dual carb tach registers twice cable speed.
