Where To Find A AC4657>(#5594657) Fuel Pump For L75(300 HP) 66 Corvette?

I know the original ones are next to impossible to find. Does anybody know a Vendor that sells
a close version of the above? Perhaps one w/o the 4657 down the side of it. Looking to have
a spare for the future. Thanks In Advance--Larry P.S. I see that Corvette Central has them
    on backorder now.

Harry>Thanks for reply but trying to stay away from Ebay;Too risky(Do not know even if they work) not
that there is no risk with vendors also. Hard to believe that there is more Fuel Pumps available for C1's
      then C2's. Wonder why?? Larry

I don't understand the risk statement. They probably don't work. Locate one that has all the correct characteristics for the year car you have. Then send it to Arthur Gould to rebuild. http://arthurgouldrebuilders.parkerspackards.com/mobi/ Somewhere round $100.00 and you will like what comes back.

Harry>The bigger risk is that the one you buy "MAY NOT BE REBUILDABLE" FOR VARIOUS REASONS. At least
with a vendor you may have a chance to get it exchanged. Larry

Larry, I don't know how long Ebay has been in existence, but in all that time I have bought thousands of items from Ebay and I can't remember ever getting a bad part. Your chances on Ebay or with Advanced auto, NAPA, or our Corvette vendors are all the same. You
re buying a product they are distributing from some known or unknown manufacturer.

You should be able to buy a generic replacement 4657 fuel pump with a Carter, Airtex, or AC name in the $55 to $75 range. It may not be stamped 4657 but it will function as it should.

Upon doing a search I see where some vendors are indicating that a GM#5621638 "4445" meant for a C1
will work with a 66 C2. Anybody heard of this fuel pump?? Larry

If you want the AC logo then about your only choice is a used original from eBay and either rebuilding it yourself or having it rebuilt. If you want a functional equivalent, then buy an Airtex 4657. I found a number of sources by Googling Airtex 4657, including Amazon and Summit

Through research on this board and others also hearing that GM#6415616 (40018) could work instead of the 4657 but
your hook-ups (fuel line to Carb) may not be exactly correct. Thoughts?? Larry
