Replacing the Radio Antenna Cable w/ rear carpets in Place

I need to replace the antenna cable in my '65 coupe. The end of the antenna cable that attaches to the power antenna is broken and the correct serrated nut is missing. I've bought a new cable and would like to know if it can be installed using a phish tape OR the original antenna cable to pull the new cable through/under the carpeted area in the rear of the car. My car has all the original carpeting in the rear and I'd like to not have to disturb it to install the new cable.

    Has anyone done this before?

    Thanks,

    James
