Correct thermostat housing for 1966 427/425 car

The numbers (3877669) on my thermostat housing are on the gooseneck, not on the rear edge of the flange... My judging manual says the numbers are "typically cast onto the rear edge of the attaching flange"... Does this mean mine could still be OK for judging? Does the word "typically" give me an out for numbers on the gooseneck? The car did not get a deduction at the 2015 National... but I'm afraid my local flight judging did render a deduction... should I replace the thermostat housing? Can anyone please advise... In my opinion Either should work if that is the correct number for 1966 applications Thought it was 660 CRS sometimes anyway. GM had several suppliers for all parts. Not all the same

I forget which or when but some of those have a hole cast into the flange and that’s when they moved the casting number. Which was for 68.
