1973 master brake cylinder and booster

    Hi everyone!

I made good progress and am in the process of installing the new master brake cylinder. However, the new master brake cylinder has a deep hole in the main piston (as did the old one). For some reason I took no picture when I removed the cylinder from the booster and now I have an additional part of which I am not sure if it belongs into the assembly.

The piston hole seems very deep and the rod, coming out of the booster, seems short. However, I do have an insert for the deep hole and wondered if anyone else has that too. I have not found a single picture of that on the internet.

The attached image shows the insert, the insert inserted into the piston, and the rod coming out of the booster.

    Thanks for any clarification,
    Sascha

I think I figured it out. The insert does not belong there as it seems. I tested the position of the master cylinder against the booster and it all fits. Now, I still wonder where that insert belongs to.
