    1975 Convertible Hard-top glass

Because 1975 was the final year for the convertible, does the understanding of 6 months pre-build date apply to hard-tops like all other parts? Or, are any hardtop rear glass and convertible rear windows with any January thru December 1974 date acceptable for flight judging with no deduction for originality?
Thanks in advance for your replies.

You just keep pushing the envelope...but an excellent question. One I don't have an answer for

Thanks Tom for your re[ply. Not trying to push the envelope. I was told that due to the discontinuation of the convertible in '75 that '74 tops would be accepted. I don't know the true answer, but thought it best to ask. I thought it interesting that for everything else, a maximum pre-build date policy is normally 6 months. Just trying to learn from the Master Judges what's right.

You will find exceptions many places, often with low quantity builds. Intake manifolds, fuel rail covers, air conditioning hoses, engines, etc. Window glass exceptions are more common.

Suggest you contact National Team Leader Brian Pierce with your question. Brian's opinion is the one that matters.

I think window glass is 1 year allowance rather than the typical six months.

              Re: 1975 Convertible Hard-top glass

As you know, 1974 production was completed late. It was completed in September 1974 due to the 2+ month labor strike in July and August of 1974. 1975 production did not begin until October of 1974. In addition, L-82 introduction was delayed until March of 1975 due to emission certification issues. All of this must be taken into account when applying the "6 month rule" to the various components of these cars.

Lynn, the hardtop glass date code on my F20 (March 20) build date '75 is 10/74 (YL). Both side window glass dated codes are 5/74 (JL). Soft top is dated 2 5 (Feb '75). Original owner car, original glass and top.

Lynn, PM me and I would be happy to share other codes/info with you. Thank you.

Guy, thanks for your date code info. I truly appreciate the info you provided. Maybe you'll make it to Lakeland next February for the Florida Regional and we can talk. Thanks again.
