I had seen it on con rods, but never noted it on cranks, though it is highly likely I wasn't paying attention at the time I was knee deep in cranks 30 years ago. At 20 years old I was ecstatic to be a helper 2 days a week in an engine shop where our only clientele were class racers willing to do anything with in the rules as they were currently written.James A Groome

I assumed that was factory mark paint. When I posted that pic, I wondered if someone would explain the "H".
