    Changes in NCM insurance

There have been changes in name of the insurance vendor that NCM uses and changes in coverage, some of which seem to be for the worse. There's a lot of explanations that may need a lawyer to decipher. What are thoughts of others who have seen these changes?
    Thanks

I just renewed with them in February...no changes that I noted. Also, haven't received any update changes since.

      Re: Changes in NCM insurance

Mr Ford I received a quit from NCM. There were a few things than would take time to go through. I have been with American Collectors Insurance for about 13 years. This last renewal for next mouth. They have the same name but a new insurance company. They sent a how new packet, with all the wording chances, that are not to benefit me, and I needed to sign a forum, that I agree to the changes and send it back with the payment. Fred Wolfe

All, no need to be alarmed. We are still your agents. Call or email our office for anything with regard to your policy, 877.678.7626 or info@ncminsurance.com.

Our carrier is consolidating 6 companies into one. Nothing to be concerned with. The policy is actually less restrictive than it has been in the past. It is a much better program and most customers are paying less.

If you see anything of concern, please contact our office at info@ncminsurance.com or 877.678.7626.

Just renewed mine and was pleasantly surprised to see a nice rate reduction while maintaining the same coverage. Great to have a proactive company behind us!

Hi Adam and thanks for the update.

Do any of the consolidation actions and/or other changes include coverage in North Carolina?

I must have lost my renewal notice I called Adam and renewed over the phone in 5 minutes. There is as no mention of changes. This was middle of April

I also found a nice reduction when I renewed in February and didn't know why but now I know. I always go over my policies line by line to see if there are any mistakes/changes and there were none that I saw.

Don, here in NC I have found that we are down to about two choices, Hagerty and Grundy. Infinity recently got out of the classic car insurance business and sold it to Hagerty. After comparing benefits AND cost, I went with Grundy. They were at least 30% cheaper than Hagerty for better coverage. Having to join the "drivers club" for an additional $45 to get any type of emergency towing with Hagerty took them out of the running for me pretty quickly.

I am really not sure. I was told by my last agent that the state charges some sort of a fee to insurance companies on each policy they have (I think she said $35 per year) and it has created quite a bit of animosity between the insurance companies and the state regulators to where no body wants to in sure classic cars here.. I was told that Infinity paid the fee for me and others but decided to get out and sold their book of business to Hagerty. Hagerty is not paying the fee, so I am sure it was in the quote I received. My agent also told me that she was staying on with Hagerty once Infinity closed out and that they would be quoting me the same rate. What she failed to tell me is that the coverage was not identical. No emergency tow is offered in their basic package where I had it before with Infinity. Please note, this is information I received and others may have a different bent on what is going on here in NC.

I’m really hoping Adam will see this thread and jump back in.

I thoroughly enjoyed doing business with NCM when I lived in Michigan but I recently bought a ‘63 Biscayne 409/425 4 spd and had to insure it elsewhere. I walk around with the impression that NC requires a store front agency to be allowed to do business here. I want to say that either Adam told me that during a visit at Carlisle or someone on the NCM staff told me on the phone. My ability to remember is no longer as good as my ability to forget, so I’m hoping someone else here will jump in and help.

If this were the case, you'd think the companies would just pass it along to the customer as a state charge line item – at least to my thinking.
