    66 steel wheel balance question

Hi, am i correct that the wheels where only static balanced and the weight's where only installed on the back side, steel or knock off wheels. In judging do you loose points for having weights on both side
    thanks Bob

You are correct. As far as judging penalty question, I cannot be of help.

Re: 66 steel wheel balance question

Bob ... take a look at the newest version of the 66 Technical Information Guide and Judging manual ...Page 91 (Exterior section) ... this page gives you the key information on correct weight placement.......

The new manuals for 66 & 67 are just over the top in detail and include great color photos....

Weights on both sides??? Personally, I would follow the manual and only do weights on the inside... and of course stay away form metric designations.... That way there is never any question.... and yes you can balance the wheels with weights on the inside only... I did it with both my 66 & 67 coupes...

      Regards
      Bill

Re: 66 steel wheel balance question

Wouldn't static balancing be a rather slow process in a factory assembly plant environment?
            thx,
