tom: these 64 283 2bbl right hand pass car exhaust manifolds without holes for choke heat riser dump straight down, like true rams horns, unlike the chevelles that dump on about a 45 degree angle. got some of them too as they come in handy for street rods. mike

I read every posts friends. Some of the photos and info confusing but this is what i didn't read.
Manifolds were painted orange. Not what I saw in the pics.
EJ. Check the inside of your RH FI exhaust manifold as the area where there is not supposed to be a choke tube hole looks different than what I am used to seeing. But I could be incorrect.
On Ebay right now there is a RH 62-65 FI exhaust manifold dirt cheap. But it does have a 3" crack which could be repaired. John

Re: 62 FI "real" r/h exhaust manifold

Hi John, As you said, a real 902 manifold would have had orange paint when new, but most of it would’ve burnt off almost immediately. Usually, a trace can still be found on the generator mounting boss after all these years, if nobody’s messed with it.

The manifold on EBay looks like it’s already been welded in the middle section where they normally cracked. The original from my blue 63 looked just like that and we managed to find a pro to weld it up. (A very difficult weld) I was still afraid to put it back on the car, though, so I gave it to the new owner separately...

John- Difficult area to see or photograph, but hIMG_20210528_185413668.jpgIMG_20210528_185413668.jpgere is a pic. of a 9IMG_20210528_184509023.jpg1,and a pic of the 902. Kind of a triangular shaped depression where the choke tube would be. I have 3 other 901's and a 942 here on the floor, and they all look identical in that area to me. Should be a way to expose a welded one? Thanks for your insight.

might pass configuration. That whitish appearance is a liability...
