    57 airbox whereabouts?

I am looking for the car Bill Rhodes restored in the late 70's - was it ever re-restored?
Does it reside in a collection?
I can get the VIN from Bill if it isn't known to those who keep track of the airboxes.

It was sold in 2012 to a collector on the East Coast who restored it, it has been pictured a while back in the Restorer Magazine, it's painted white again, believe the new owner wants to vintage race it? John Justo is the lucky owner.

Drove the 64 over 5000 miles to three Regionals and the San Jose National, one dust storm and 40 lbs of bugs!

Remember a while back there were two Air Box cars on the front of the Restorer as Dan Mentioned.
One was black owned by Dr. Mike McCagh and the other was white owned by John Justo. The pic was taken by Vinnie at a Pittsburgh Tri State Chapter regional at the Blair County Convention Center, Altoona, PA in 2017.

I have a pic I took at Road Atlanta decades ago of Zora speaking with Bill behind the freshly restored Corvette.

Steve and Mary Prewitt bought the car from Bill in the 80s, it was vintage raced a lot back then. Mary sold the car to John in 2012. I did a lot of cleaning on it, rebuilt FI, got it running very nicely, had it in my garage for two months, several test drives, one neat car! Back when Bill was first restoring it I traded a 4 inch air meter adapter for a 59 jack, Bill was very happy to find that part. Never thought it would ever be in my garage.

The vintage racing is the angle I was aiming at, the car should be eligible for most any, if not all vintage racing.

My Dad and Bill are friends and we were up at Bills place a few years ago, Bill has a bunch of 1940 Fords now, a cad powered 50's hot rod etc, ... he had a Woodie Wagon & my dad has a restored 1940 Ford Woodie wagon completed in the early 1990's--- thus the connection.

I said to my dad... why didn't you tell me Bill restored an airbox and raced 951 porsche's?

Bill Rhodes is a classy gentleman. He and I interacted a number of times when he had the 57 and I had the Gulf Oil 62.
