C-2 small block intake gasket GM tab

Could someone please share a picture of the tab (GM) on the front intake on a 300 HP
I had to rebuild my 247,000 engine. The original gasket disintegrated when I took it off a few months ago,
I have forgotten where the tab goes and would like to reproduce the correct position on the new gasket.
I can't decipher the pic in the judging manual.
    Thank you folks.

Attached are a few I have had in the past. There are many diferent fonts and versions of both the front and rear gasket. When you look at some NOS out of a GM bag they say NPC, who was the manufacturer. Some have been plain with no logo. Some have been such poor quality it is hard to read the logo at all. Because of the GM logo and the leagal issues reproducing them they are getting scarce.

There have been several threads here about preparing for such a drive, it’d be my suggestion that you read them first. Such things as wheel bearing lubrication, spare ignition parts, proper tools to take, and planning gas stops out west, are important.

Yes, and ESPECIALLY rear wheel bearing end play, condition, and lubrication. Such a failure a long way from home will be a NIGHTMARE.

I agree Joe. Having just driven through Texas, New Mexico and Arizona, (not to mention Nevada and parts of California) there are vast stretches of highway that would provide an extremely challenging atmosphere for a breakdown.

...and you're sure not going to get this kind of problem fixed by the side of the road or, likely, even at the nearest mechanical shop or dealer.

Original - never serviced rear wheel bearings would be my largest concerns for a LONG road trip.

No AC would be my largest. :-). Especially through the desert in July.

In 2004 while chasing my Founders Award, I dove my '64 convertible to Bowling Green, KY. and back in May to the regional at the Corvette Museum and to Park City, Utah in July via the NCRS Road Tour to the National Convention. Made my own "crash" kit for the trips. I had just about any part and tool that might fail. I used clear plastic container with a lid that was the width of the rear compartment between the wheel wells and low enough so that I could still put the top down. I took hand tools and a small aluminum floor jack. It was a great trip, I took my Dad with me to the convention. Little did he or I know he had liver cancer and was deceased two month after we got home. It was a trip I'm glad I got to take with him.
