What have I got here (Alternator Brace)

Any ideas if this is a "correct" alternator brace for a 1966 327 L79 engine? The slot is about 4.5" long and it has a "B" stamp. It looks like it will clear the alternator housing as well, my current brace rubs on the housing... Also, should it be flat? It has a slight bend at the water pump end that doesn't seem normal.

Thanks! I swear the pics could be swapped with mine! I think I just need to unbend on the pump end a little to match the drawings!

there should be two bends in your brace. Both pretty slight. One near the bottom, the other around the middle.

someone probably had your brace attached to the front of the mount tab. It should be behind it (as you know).

So I looked closely and there are two bends. The pump end was bent too far, but easily corrected. I had thought I needed a 3854028 according to the AIM, but this 3881816 fits very, very well...
