I have finally assembled the correct parts to replace the incorrect 7-blade fan and Schwitzer big block fan clutch in preparation for Chapter Flight Judging later this month.
The car is a 1967 Coupe with L79 (327-350) small block and A/C. I have the correct 5-blade fan and a small block Schwitzer fan clutch rebuilt by McConnell Corvette. New Quanta V-Belts as well.
Now for my question. I noticed there is a pulley reinforcment plate sold by many vendors. See photo.

I purchased one but do not understand where it fits. I do not see the is plate called out in the Assembly Manual. I remember reading something about pulley failures and the plate was added to prevent failures. My car is original and did not have this plate. Does this plate fit inside the pulley? If yes, it would disturb V-Belt alignment. Or does it fit between between the pulley and fan clutch?
Is this plate even correct to use on a 1967 small block? I tried looking for a Service Bulletin in the back of the newest 1967 Judging Manual without success.
Thanks for your assistance.
