Re: 67 C2 master cylinder with bleeders
I just had a 69's original master sleeved. It came back with label on the box stating not to go more than 1 3/8" in when bench bleeding or warranty is void. When the master was bench bled the piston stopped at the bolt right around the 1 3/8. I don't know but going to far in may damage the seals when bench bleeding a master without the stop. With master in vice, I use fittings with short line out the brake line holes with clear hose on them and placed in the fluid wells. Slowly pumping air out it's clear to see when the master is ready. Whether gravity, pressure or pedal bleeding the master can't go too low on fluid. I like to start with gravity bleeding (tubes to jars on all 6 bleeders)and finish with an assistant pedal bleeding. An empty system is slow to get a pedal but if just changing the master, pedal bleeding goes fast with system mostly full. When all bled, hard spike the pedal a number of times and it's surprising how often a leak is found. I would call CSSB or Lonestars tech. people about possible issues with the repro masters they sell.
