    LED headlights

Thinking about LED headlights for one of my ‘65 cars. I’ve done them before, but that was several years ago, so I assume things have improved. In any case, if anyone has done this recently, your help would be appreciated.
    Thanks,

    Re: LED headlights

Seems there are two ways to go, some buy housings and put motorcycle LED bulbs in them and that's cheap but the dispersion isn't great...in some cases. I went with a "all-in-one" solution and its not cheap but effective, the housings have sort of "half shields" to keep the lights out of oncoming traffic. I only did the low beams a few years back and the company has an improved version of the LEDS that do NOT have internal fans (which you can hear and can cause radio static): They are, I believe, the VMc3 series:

LED headlight kits for all US and international vehicles with 7 inch and 5.75 inch Round Headlights. See specific specs to ensure a perfect fit.

Frankie, they have several versions, are the VMc3 versions adequate? I’m also only going with the low beams.

      Thanks,

You may want to confirm but I think you want the VCm3 5.75" units, again these are different and much improved from my older units shown above. The new ones are more than adequate. My versions were "plug and play", no modifications needed to anything.

Contact Bob Kinstrey Chairperson of the Carolinas Chapter (rbkinstrey@aol.com). He recently did this to his 65 and knows a lot about it.

Just beware; I've seen some "creative" solutions that were made from "pick and pay" parts that have bad dispersion and are bad for oncoming driers. Others have required bucket modifications to accommodate large cooking fans or heat sinks.

64LED.jpgI installed some Vintage Car LEDs in my '64, they are very bright and fit well without mods in the low beam side....https://vintagecarleds.com/shop/5-75...5-75-inch-kit/

If you notice in this comparison of LED low beams to halogen high beams the LED lights have that "half-diffuser" on top on these VmC35 bulbs that stop the glare into oncoming driers' eyes....part of why I went with them.

Hi Frank. I like your garage floor. I'm thinking of doing something like that on mine. What did you use? Thanks.

Well - you can spend a small fortune on premium tiles - I went with cheap $2.49/ea 12" x 12" gray diamond tiles from this outfit:

                            https://www.garageflooringinc.com/ga...ro-tiles.html#!

Wife and I did the floor in a weekend and I think the total was about $1,300 for 3 car garage. You want to lay landscape fabric under them to prevent that annoying clickety-clack when you walk on them; a few taps with a rubber mallet and the tiles interlock and won't budge.

If one gets damaged (very rare) you can buy just 1 tile from the company and snap a new one in. The only appearance issue I've had is with certain tire" black" treatments, they bleed off the tires and stain the tile and its the one thing that I haven't been able to get off - so let that stuff dry COMPLETELY before pulling onto the tiles.

How well do they handle a point load? Do they break under a floor jack or jack stand?
