Had to smile-C2 parking brake

Well I have delved into my "no brake" parking brake journey on my 65 roadster.

My smile comes from the long, punctuation-free thread from 1998. Imagine-punctuation makes lots of difference!

Anyway, would all consider the instructions for adjustment of the parking brake found in the shop manual still the way to go even with the new parts I just purchased they are not stainless came from LIC I would like to reuse the cables which appear intact any reason not to?

John,

Have used that procedure in the manual for years on several Corvettes and it has always worked well. I would recommend that after several hundreds of miles you might want to adjust again as the new shoes have seated to the rotor.

Would be no way to tell about stretch unless I reset via the procedure in the manual, then see the results, correct?

Yes if you have to run the adjusting nuts all the way up on the rod the cables may be done
