    1967 Big Block Ignition coils

The 1967 427/435 was built with a 1115263 ignition coil. This coil was never made available for service. The service coil was 1115207. The only replacement "207' ignition coil is made in China and has a bad reputation. All of the major corvette suppliers, Zip, Corvette Central, Doc Rebuild, Long Island Corvette, and TI Specialty no longer carry replacement TI coils for this application. Paragon carries the China part. Does anyone know of a source for a quality replacement part?

I wish I knew. That is the same coil used for big blocks with TI through 1971

If you need one immediately, it is tough. But they do pop up for sale on ebay and other sites. Did you try Mike Zamora (renu-a-vette). I bought a NOS 207 from him about 3 months ago. I did find a NOS ink stamped Japan 207 on ebay in the same time frame.

Could, also, give David Sokolowski a call. 310-329-5334

Tough coil to find, but original 207's come up for sale from time to time - even NOS ones. Keep looking. I'll keep my eyes out for one for you as well. ARA

46 Original Coil 263 AC Delco (2).jpg Your best bet is David Sokolowski he may have a good use one , forget the Corvette suppliers there all from China they run for 20min then it over heat and break down, i'am lucky to have found a NOS 263 Coil many years ago not a China made, there out there you just have to watch for them.

For functionality nothing beats a 207, used or NOS. I found a NOS 207 several years ago to fix a repro-263 nightmare..... 2 of them, same 20 minute heat failures. Drove me absolutely &#$*&@& NUTS trying to diagnose a L71.

So if you want to, get the repro 263 for judging and cold start(NOT PV!), then when you get the car back home swap the 207 back in.

I got the 207 coil from a good friend of mine. He pulled it off a shelf next to his desk and handed it to me for a good price. I am building the car to drive and do not intend to have it judged.
