    Ceramic paint coating/wax

    Good Saturday Morning to All,
Wondering what you might think of, heard about, or have used and review of the new ceramic paint coatings as opposed to regular soft paste wax.
    Look Forward to Your Thoughts,
    Rob Goodrich

Hey, Rob, I use the Meguiars Hybrid Ceramic Wax on my Elkheart green '73. It has a 6 or 7 year old base/clear. I think it does great! I applied it differently than they recommended though. I started by washing the car then I sprayed the wax and wiped it down as if I was just wiping down the car. I used a micro-fiber cloth and kept changing the cloth. No swirl marks and when I clean the car I just spray it off with a water hose. I don't know if different types of paint would have different results but, I'm pleased.1973 Corvette 005.jpg

Thanks for the information and the directions of how you applied it.

Why not apply per instructions? Just asking.

The instructions say to wash the car then spray wet the car with the wax/coating ,then, spray it off. I just washed the car and then I sprayed the coating on a wet microfiber cloth and dried the car with the coating on the cloth. Honestly it looks different than the way my buddy did his car. He did his the way the instructions called for. Given, his car is a light shade of blue and mine is a darker green. When we spray them at the carwash, mine seems to run off faster as well.

In reviews elsewhere, some like it, some say not so good. Some like P and S Beadmaker. haven't tried either. Still using conventional prep and wax.
