Re: Tyler Townsley, long time Foridia Chapter Registrar
Tyler was a friend and customer! He always took care of the vendors from Cypress Gardens until a few years ago at Lakeland! He along with his wife and daughter made sure we were happy.
Tyler was an great asset to the Florida Chapter and worked hard to be a great NCRS member.
He will be missed by all who knew him from the 80's.
Tyler owned several Corvettes including a 55 and a very early prototype ZR-1.

A good friend of Tyler told me a few minutes ago it was a massive heart attack...
This is just too sad, Tyler was a mainstay of the NCRS Florida Regionals as far back as I've been going...
I can still picture him whizzing by on a golf cart off to take care of some event task or other...
RIP Tyler- Top

I was shocked yesterday when I got a email from Tom Bloundt about Tyler passing. You will be very missed.
My condolences to all of his family and all who knew him.
I became a close friend with Tyler several years ago during the first Lakeland event when at the last minute I volunteered to help him. My Corvette buddy Chuck McSheehy and I would always go together for a few days or to bring cars for judging, but he was ill that year and he couldn't go. I didn't want to go by myself. Cathie said why don't you go and help Tyler for the whole event and have some fun. So at the last minute I called Tyler and he said..... "YES! please come!"
When I got there on the Wednesday morning he asked me to help with traffic control. I could see how busy and driven he was to make it a great event. I continued to volunteer and help him each year afterward and he was always the reason I came back. He was so much fun to be with and his wife and daughters were so hard working along with the entire Florida group. It was truly a family love for the organization and the desire to help people to be happy and to have fun. From then on I had been honored to know him and his family and his close friends in his area. I'm about 2 hours from Lakeland and always wished I was closer so I could hang out in his off-site workshop with him and friends where he was always busy with his projects.
One year after the Regional on the Sunday end day, Tyler asked me to hang around and go to lunch with him and his family and staff before my trek home. I said sure. He said, "...but do me a favor this morning.... take my '55 for a ride over to my storage workshop near the airport entrance following Monte in his car". I had never driven a '55 or any pre-56 Corvette before so it was going to be fun for me. I drove his car and had a blast. He was happy to see it drive away by someone else I guess too. As I was driving I pulled out the smartphone and clicked on the video button. Tyler loved his '55. Here's a driving tribute to him. I'm really glad now I saved this away. I just viewed it and have to admit got a bit teary eyed reminiscing.... RIP Tyler my friend.
