I am repairing/ replacing parts in my convertible. In spite of a good door fit the vent window front edge barely contacts the weatherstrip-nearly off it at the top. the weatherstrip is good, a replacement.

I have had the vent window out to replace the front window channel run. It seems I have adjusted it as far as possible to move it inboard. Any other thoughts on what more to do to get the vent window better aligned?

As a sidelight, I note a broken, now removed by me section at the top of the door which needs repair. Any suggestions on that? image is below

I am still curious whether there is any way to reset the vent window assembly so it tilts more inboard and gives a better fit at the windshield weatherstrip .
It seems to just will not tilt any farther. Any other ideas?

John,
The vent window assembly can be a bit tedious in getting properly aligned. I had some difficulty on one of mine, I keep working it and it it finally come into spec after about 1/2 hour of fiddling. Not sure what technical data you have but there is a very detailed procedure in the AIM for installing and adjustment of the vent window assembly.
