    Temp Gauge Not Moving

Fixed the fuel leak on my recently acquired C3 and finally drove the car about 6 miles and noticed the temp gauge was not moving off of 100. I read that could be normal as the engines take a while to warm up. Any opinions on this? Or, do I have an issue that needs to be fixed? Thanks!

The temperature sending unit is on the drivers side head between number 1 and number 3 cylinders, make sure the connection is good.

You didn't happen to feel the top radiator hose to see if it was warm, did you?
The thermostat opens at 180 deg so if the upper rad hose is warm the thermostat is open - and the coolant is 180 - if the gauge is not at least 180 there is an issue.
That's a quick way to check if the gauge is or is not operating.

You can but an inexpensive IR gun at Harbor Freight or O'Reilly's to check the temp.

A quick check of the gage circuitry is short the wire, momentarily, at the sender to ground. If the circuitry is intact, the gage will deflect to maximum temp. If this works, then you have a faulty sender...........

Is there sealant on the threads for the sensor?
You can check the ground using a ohm meter between the gauge and a good ground on the block.
