    Jack Board Label Location

DSCF2329.jpg I found the jacking instructions and positraction tags on the left side of the jack board cover, rather than the right side as the judging manual states. If you look carefully, there is also a rectangular shadow about the size of what could have been the Stevens carpet sticker. I think that the green '11' label may be an inspection label.

Does this look like it was a factory installation, or something that was done incorrectly by a previous owner?

    Thanks!

This is a photo of the original jack board from my 1967. Yours looks to be original/correct in my opinion.

We have seen other midyear original boards with the labels on the passenger side.

I read the thread again. The confusion could possibly be in the terminology. The position of the tags is, as stated, on the right/passenger side of the board as it is installed in the car. When looking at the board, as in the photos, the tags are on the left end of the board, which is the passenger side, because the forward edge of the board is at the top of the photo..... Do I have you confused yet..........

My wife says I'm confused most of the time anyway. As for the photos here, they show the labels on the driver's side when board is installed. The JG agrees with this position as it states the labels are typically on the left side (driver's side). The AIM also shows labels on the left side (driver's side) when the board is installed.

IMG_20210331_153931296.jpgHI- Here is the original board and labels from my 66 (ser. #3795)- When installed in car, the labels are on the left (driver's) side.
I wouldn't think it would matter, but both Randal's car and mine have P48, but the labels are installed on opposite sides of the car?

Hi Randal, Just looked at my jack board in my 65 that i have owned since 1970 .My cover has the jacking instructions and posi warning in the same side location as yours . The big difference is they are in the 180 degree direction when they were pasted down.
My jack instruction sheet shows for removal of K.O. wheels as does yours. My car never had this option. My steel wheels all have the same build date.
My car was built the last week of Dec.64. I was wondering if the factory was using that instruction sheet on all the cars in that time frame with out KO's.

Hi Dennis- are you sure that your car did NOT come with P48? Seems unlikely to me that K/O wheel instructions would be found on a car that came with hubcaps! Looks like that could cause confusion and legal issues if an owner tried to follow the instructions and found a hammer and started smacking the spinners on his hubcaps!!?

When I removed the spare tire tub a while ago I measured the two front tub bolts and the rear retaining bolt lengths and they measured correct for the standard wheels. I may be wrong but I think the KO bolts were a longer length. Just might have been a assembly line worker grabbing the wrong decal and putting it on upside down.

I thought the longer tub hanger bolts were to accommodate the optional tires (Goldlines); that were wider than the standard tires.
