    Identifying AC Delco Horns

I have several AC Delco Horns and I am trying to find out what they are for. I do have some AC Delco catalogs; however, they just give me a newer part number for the horns. Is there a source like gmpartswiki to identify AC Delco horns? Thanks! Mark

      Mark,
All the GM horn part numbers listed in the Chevrolet parts catalogs are for the replacement type. You can usually find the assembly line horn part numbers in the assembly manuals.
      1962 Corvette AIM: horns are 9000441 & 9000442
      1963 Corvette AIM: horns are 9000455 & 9000456
      1963 Chevrolet AIM: horns are 9000458 & 9000457, optional horns are 9000477 & 9000478
I have 32 different assembly manuals in my library (Corvette, Chevrolet, Camaro, Chevelle, Nova, Firebird) as well as 60 or so Chevrolet parts catalogs and 2 Pontiac parts catalogs.
To do good research you need a good library.
      Dave

        Jaime and David:

I appreciate the feedback! I do have a fairly good library; however, I have several horns that are not listed for Corvettes. I have numbers such as the following: 445, 446, 325, 326, 361, 362, 491,492, etc.

        Sincerely,

        Mark

          Mark,
The only way to identify the horns is to look thru various assembly manuals. There should be date codes on the horns so at least you will know the year of the car
From my salvage yard notes and some of my assembly manuals:
          1957 Chevrolet: 9000325 & 9000326
          1959 Chevrolet: 9000361 & 9000362
          1962 Corvette: 9000441 & 9000442
          1963 Cadillac: 9000429 & 9000430
          1964 Chevrolet: 9000477 & 9000478
          1964 Chevelle: 9000489 & 9000490
          1965 Chevrolet: 90009538 & 9000477
          1965 Chevelle: 9000489 & 9000490
          1966 Chevelle: 9000490 & 9000213
          1966 Chevrolet: 9000538 & 9000477
          1967 Camaro: 9000214 & 9000477
          1967 Buick Skylark: 9000491 & 9000492
          1968 Camaro: 9000214 & 9000477
          1968 Chevelle: 9000279 & 9000280
          1969 Camaro: 9000289 & 9000290
          1970 Camaro: 9000289 & 9000290
          1969 Chevelle: 9000279 & 9000280
          1970 Chevelle: 9000279 & 9000280
          1970 Chevrolet: 9000287 & 9000292
          1970 Nova: 9000257 (Low Note)

              Hi Guys
Reference the Delco horns 325 & 326. Would they have been found on a 1957 or early 58 vette

john: the 325 and 326 weren't used in 56-7 corvettes. 56 and early 57's to about vin 1500 utilized horns 759 and 760. mid to later 57's used 339 and 340 horns. what's your vin as i have one extra mid to late 57? mike mccagh
