I am getting ready to clean and install the pushrods and rockers on my '64 L75. I am reusing pushrods from a prior rebuild - they barely have any miles on them. I numbered them so I know where they go, but did not label the top and bottom. How critical is this? Each pushrod has an end that is very clean, and an end that is noticeably dirtier. Is there a rule of thumb that the dirtier end is usually on the rocker or lifter? Thanks.

Re: pushrod question
Your pushrods may have a hardened tip. That tip goes to the rocker arm.
