Bucket opening on C2 passenger side appears to be bigger than driver side

I have seen many C2 pictures on the internet and a good portion shows the bucket opening on the Passenger
Side slightly bigger than the Drives Side. Has anybody else noticed this? See the gaps Below. If so why would this be? They all can't have a repro front end on.
    Thanks in advance>Larry

My buckets are pretty uniform...... My body was made in St Louis. Maybe that is the difference... I know, the hood stripe is not quite correct.......

Stephen>Yours look good and consistent. I would say of all my pictures the percent of C2 that have a bucket width difference
from side to side is around 35%. Maybe they produced a batch with a little difference in the tolerance from time to time. Another one of
my pictures below. It is odd that I never see a bigger width difference with the Driver Side being bigger. Comments?

Remember that there were two body shops building the bodies - compare AOS to AOS, St Louis to St louis, what do you see?

Larry, could it just be that all the sanding and painting over the years. Are the headlight doors measurements same? Or is it the openings?

Edward>I believe it is in the openings. I have measured mine and have email some owners and all claim the buckets themselves are pretty consistent with the width. Could not be the sanding and painting because you would then see some
inconsistencies in the Drivers Side openings which I have never seen. Wonder what the opinions from the Judges and the
the people who made up the new judging manuals would say? It seems that the peak of the inconsistencies came about in
the 1966 year of production of the C2's. Larry P.S. My bucket openings are different by about 1/8" from side to side with
the passenger side being bigger. Car has never been in an accident. In some cases the differences still could pass the tolerance test of .06 but still can be seen by the human eye. See Below
