    Corvette vendors

I am doing a 63 and everything I order from Corvette Central is 70% back ordered. Are all the vendors having this problem? Thanks

Jerry, I like using Long Island Corvette,, they cater to just 63/67.they ship quickly, Other venders-may have parts that Long Island does not, but not often

Depending on the parts. I think the vendor you used has a history of back orders but also there are delays today. Timken bearings are back ordered from Timken. My suppliers- most are not vette vendors, have started to substitute other brands in kits, others are out of stock. I personally use just Timkens but who knows what some will use. So there may be back orders on many parts today.

I would go over your list and call several vendors to see who has them. Discounts on parts vary from place to place, if at all. Some discounted prices are still higher then other places as well. If one vendor has most of what you need see if they will work with you for a better price.

        Jerry,

This is not unique to just Corvette parts or auto parts in particular, it's a sign of the times. For example, Lowe's and Home Depot seemed to be experiencing some inventory shortages but it does seem to be getting better. I am on the downslope side of putting my '63 back together after frame rust repair. The project is being dealt with more as a major refurbishment rather than a restore and was on hiatus over the winter due to me having an unheated detached garage to work in. I hope the parts supply is a little more reliable now that I am getting started again. All last year though I found that parts inventories were all over the place and were spotty at best. For example CC had one of the rear emergency brake cables in stock but the other side was about a 3 or 4 month wait. Wheel cylinders were similar, both fronts were in stock, one of the rears was about a 2 week wait, and the other was about a 6 week wait. My best advice for the time being going forward is that if you know you definitely will need a certain part and someone has it in stock order it while it's available and you may also avoid a price increase that is sometimes on the new inventory when it does arrive.

I live south of LA harbor, in Huntington Beach, in Jan there were 60 container ships anchored off shore. Problem getting them unloaded'
Maybe your parts are out there. Google it and look at the pictures.

I was talking with the owner/manager of my FLAPS. He was bemoaning their inability to get product from Felpro and many other national parts suppliers.

Not just auto parts. Grocery store shelves are also missing items.

I am also in the food industry, oils such as soy, canola, olive, mineral oil, palm oil etc IT is one screwed up time, Chicago Board of trade prices are going up crazy fast soy oil is almost twice the cost it was 4 months ago and that is a raw that goes in just about every food up 100% !!! And the suppliers say they are out of oil- I think they are just holding it in hopes it will go up even more .
But the short of it is FOOD PRICES are going up LOTS fast inflation? Gee what changed in the last few months ???
Just saying take a look and yes the ships are lined up off California coast unable to unload due to dock workers on covid
China repros are going to be hard to find for a while
