    67 oil filter housing

    I have to replace the copper gasket on my original oil filter housing
    Need some help on procedure and tools and who has correct gasket

    Enzo:

    At one time LICS sold a rebuild kit with simple instructions. They probably still do.

    I believe Paragon still restores the oil can and internals.......if that is necessary. Generally during a full restoration, the long center bolt stem that holds the can to the block has a machined groove cut into it at the correct height, and a small (removable) c-clip is then used to hold the internals and spring etc all together.

        I've used several of those and work fine. IIRC LIC is their supplier. Just a bit pricey for such a small bag of parts. The install tube makes the bag bigger so you don't feel so ripped off. lol

            NAPA sells the copper crush washer -- UP 1245. (I replace mine annually with oil & filter change). While you are there, grab some 1243's to stash away for next brake hose change/sealing.
