Re: Correct (Judging) U-Joints for '65 SB... Spicer 1310???
They look very very similar to the ones I removed on my 1967 car about 10 years ago. I believe my u-joints were also original to the car. Surprisingly, on my u-joints, all the roller bearings were intact, there was no noticeable brinelling , and there was still fluid grease inside.
Car had 26,000 miles on it.
But they did not want to be easily removed, and resisted coming out. With my 20 ton press, each movement of the u-joint caps sounded like a .38 caliber gun going off in the garage. And this was after immersing them in a bucket of PB Blaster for a week prior to the removal. But I eventually prevailed.
:"D
Maybe I should have used Kroil instead of PB Blaster?
