    66 P48 lead hammer

Hi- I have a 66 that came with K/O's (all 5 still with car)- my question is with the hammer. Does someone have a pic. of a "welded" hammer?
Mine has a welded hammer, but it was obviously welded AFTER the hammer was painted.
This is a fairly early car, and the 66 TIMJG states that the head is not welded, but notes that " examples have been observed with lead hammers that are welded"
Surely the factory would have welded the head BEFORE painting-correct?
Just wondering if this is the original hammer that came with this car?
    Thanks-E.J.

The first hammer, 3859067, was used till mid 65 production. It's drawing called for the weld and painting with black laquer. So must assume the weld was done before painting. see Noland's page 300.
