    C1/C2 Powerglide Pan

Can anyone tell me if the automatic transmission bottom pans for '62, '63, and '64 are the same and interchangeable? Do the C2 pans have a date and VIN stamped on them as do the late '62 pans?

    Thanks,
    Rick

The 1962 pan was GM #3789147. The 1963-64 pan was GM #3789146. How they differ I do not know.

Our 300HP '63 with Powerglide had its original drivetrain. Here is a partial view of the pan for reference. Sorry no view of the entire pan.

The pan had its original Date code on the flat area. T02 15D(Toledo Feb 15 Day shift). Car was a Feb 27 build.
      I found no vin derivative.

In the past someone removed/cut off the Neutral Safety Switch mounting boss. I acquired a NOS NSS but had to make a unique bracket and used one of the transmission mount bolts to secure it.

Want a good chuckle? This is what the car had for a NSS when we got it. Old school horn button at the shift lever. Had to be in P to start. It was bypassed but the hot feed wire for it from the Violet plug at the firewall was still hot. It got jammed in the E-Brake rod teeth once as the wires were routed just above it. Enlightening find.

There is no vin on a 67 pan. Just a assembly stamp and date
