New to NCRS, so forgive me if this has been posted elsewhere. I'm just starting to restore a 72 Vette. Brake calipers, trailing arms, front hubs, and rotors all need to be restored. I've seen on other posts recommendations for the work with either Van Steel or Bairs. Having never done business with either one, does anyone have a suggestion on who to use? Or is there someone else I should consider?

Re: Rebuilder Recommendations
Both Van Steel and Bairs are very very good. Pick either one. That said, I prefer Bairs, and they did the trailing arms and rear rotors for my 1967 car.
Another GREAT place for trailing arms and rear ends is Gary Ramadei up in the Northeast (Connecticut, I believe). You cannot go wrong with him.
Consider Lone Star Brake and Caliper in Texas for brake rebuilding etc. They are great, and cater to the Corvette crowd. CSSB Inc is also a very good resource for Corvette brakes. But Lone Star is THE SOURCE for most of us Corvette guys.

Re: Rebuilder Recommendations
George,
2004 timeframe (can't remember??) - Bairs did my:
- trailing arms
- rotors
- sandblasted and primed my spring leaves
- re-geared my diff
- plus I bought some other things from them, too (wheel bearings and races?)
very nice people and quality work at reasonable prices back then - probably the same todaythx,

Re: Rebuilder Recommendations
Bairs are very nice people. I use them all the time . I am sure the other venders that guys have spoke about are good also. I think the "deal breaker" would be where you live vs where the vender is . The items you need to rebuild will be costly to ship .- Top

Re: Rebuilder Recommendations
Gary Ramadei not only rebuilt my rear end, front hubs ,steering box, and trailing arms with hubs installed ,he sent pictures with a step by step procedure of teardown and rebuild. Besides being a great guy.68 L79 Convertible: Triple Black: Work In Progress, Body off. Now on!
