You have two out of three right. The calculator is really not necessary. No one is dumber than me when it comes to mathematics.
But I know simple multiplication. Do they still teach that? If someone knows that, they can very easily crunch the small numbers in their built in computer, feeble though it may be...

I am away from my Restorer Magazine resources at this time so I cannot give you a reference volume, however, David Brigham's Restorer article on judging replacement parts DATE are worth re-reading. (Material was also presented during Judges Retreat/Regional judging schools) Minor Configuration issues (20% Configuration deduction) on undated parts (e.g. door panels) do not in-turn, also generate a Date deduction. ...

Dave Brigham's Date article was in his National Judging Chairman column in Restorer Volume 43, Summer 2016, page 5.

And one simple method to do the math:
Take the originality points: double it, move decimal over one
        Example: Originality points 17
        17 x 2 = 34 , move decimal over one makes 3.4 per item in C D C I F
Works even with multiple items, originality points is 17 for two items, you and your fellow judge decide to split 15 and 2.
        Do same math:
        15 x 2 = 30 move decimal =3.0
        2 x 2 = 4 move decimal = 0.4
Usually, fairly simple for people to double things. Doing 20% of 17 taxes the brain and I am a simpleton!

Good example of service replacement that gets the projected dating deduction is the blue PF-25 oil filter for the white PF-25 on 69-72.

You only open a can of worms for yourself and others that have not attended judging schools where topics like this have been discussed for several years by judges, Master judges of various levels, National team leaders and the National judging chairman at Regionals, Nationals and judging retreats.
Read the JRM, (which needs updating)section 4-13 would be a great place to start, and get a copy of the current Standard Deducts and Paint Matrix chart. There can be discussions and differences of opinions but it will go a long way to answering some of your own questions. Some great replies from judges who did attend these schools.
