    Re: Alternator Diode Ink Stamp

Tom, note the NOS pics I posted are of a 1967 casting and 7A back assembly.

The other thing I noted is the capacitor has numbers versus what was shown in other posts. I have original diodes in my 66 but they are so faded you can't tell what they are, I know I'm down a couple, years back one blew on the day of the Woodward dream cruize and the car ran fine until the battery was dead...

A local rubber stamp company can duplicate the original font... Also, better to use "Non-Porous" ink NOT regular stamp pad ink !

          Ralph,
Good advice on the ink for non-porous surfaces. Now the trick will be to find a small quantity.

Here is a link to an internet company that sells ink for non porous surfaces - a good and brief explanation of why the need for special ink for non porous surfaces - if you click on ink in the pull down menu they have small quantities of ink - small bottles - for under $10. https://www.thestampmaker.com/non_po...gaAjfqEALw_wcB

Only one negative diode is bad and I have a NOS replacement on the way. In reading the many threads here on the forum a number of folks have had ink stamps made to mark the diodes.
My question is; can someone provide the font type and size and/or a source to buy them? Or perhaps sell, lend a set that have already been made?

                Thanks Tom.

                    Tom,
here is another NOS alternaor back plate.
Remember - NOS inside its original box, not exposed to light or anything to reduce the amount of ink Declo-Remey put on these diodes.IMG_3715.jpg
