    Air conditioning expansion valve

Does anyone know the correct part numbers for an air conditioning expansion valve for either a 67 or a 69 Corvette?

I have seen one with a J shaped sensor bulb with part number ending in 0475. Is this correct for a 67? Or maybe an earlier C2?

I have seen two different expansion valves with a straight sensor bulb having part numbers 5910619 and 5910537. Is either correct for a 69? If not what year C3 used these part number So?

    Thanks

I cannot find any information that expansion valves GM #5910619, 5910537, or a valve ending in 0475 (possibly 5910475) were ever originally installed on a Corvette. GM #5910619 did exist and was replaced by GM #5910745 in November, 1970. The latter was replaced by GM #6551448 in January, 1983, then GM #12323651 in April, 1989, and finally by GM #12356572in July, 1994. The latter 2 part numbers will SERVICE 68-72 Corvettes.

I can find no record, at all, of GM #5910537 or 5910475. Of course, if these are on-valve part numbers they might not represent a finished part or they could be PRODUCTION only part numbers for which I have no record.

      Joe,

Thanks for your reply. You are always a great resource for information that does not seem to be published any where. The expansion valve that I found that has part number 5910619 on what appears to be an original box. The label on the box has the part number and also has an ink stamp of 1 69 on the label. The part also has an ink stamp of 619 on the lower tube.

Do you know of any source for original air conditioning hoses, including the upper hose from the manifold block/muffler to the top hole behind the radiator (which leads to the top of the condenser) and the lower hose that goes from the expansion valve to the lower hole behind the radiator (which leads to the bottom of the condenser)? I am working on collecting parts for a late 69 car with a 427 and obviously air conditioning.

      Thanks again for your help

PS do you have any information on the date codes for Firestone F70 15 tires from 68-70 and Firestone 775 15 tires from 65-67? I have a lot of data and am formulating some theories on Firestone date codes for these tires. I am also contemplating writing an article for the Restorer magazine. I will also start a thread on the forum on this as well.

Some deeper checking reveals that the GM #5910619 was used for 1967-69 passenger cars with A/C as well as 1968-69 Chevelles, Chevy II, and Camaro with A/C. It may also have been used on similar non Chevrolet GM models. No Corvette applications.

I'm afraid I don't know of any sources for the hoses.

Do not know if this adds to anything but found it interesting:
All of the 5910 #s are GM Frigidaire Division, Dayton part numbers. Would not be surprised if they were used on your Grandmother's Frigidaire refrigerator. #6551448 is a Harrison Radiator Division, Dayton number.
Both 123 #s are Buick numbers engineered by that Division.
