What happened to all the S/B C2 Coupes? (Excluding The 63 S/W)?

Always try to keep up with the Corvette market (especially the C2's). When one looks at the inventory of
Pro Team/Mershon's/Vintage Vettes and more there is a lack of Coupes Available. Outside of the 63 S/W
which seem to be coming out of the woodwork now there are very few S/B Coupes out there compared to
Convertibles. I might add that a good portion of the Convertibles are B/B. Mershon's indicates that "Coupes
are Hot now" and the last Midwest Mikes weekly letter indicates they need and are looking for S/B Coupes
(Especially Red In color). I know that there where a lot less Coupes made then Convertibles but even so it
way out of proportion on availability.
    Do you think
that a lot of Coupes now are being turned into these "Resto Mods"? I'm glad I found mine (took two years).

I would think it is more likely that these are the "affordable" great driving C2s and those that have one are keeping it. Took me 3 years of looking to find the right one (1965 L-76 4 spd, Coupe Nass Blue/Brt Blue) and that was 15 years ago. To quote another user on here "Not for sale!"

I don't know why one would assume that the spot inventory of a few classic car dealers is indicative of the global ratio of one body style to another.

Frank: Very true but when you look at their inventory and look up what is available at Mecum/Barrett Jackson auctions and
the recent history of them(Auctions For Last 2 years) the SAME RESULT is apparent.IMHO> Larry

Nice coupes in good colors trade quickly,
I stupidly turned down a 66 L72 Blue Blue this last summer, a few hours later changed my mind, of course, the next person the estate called had bought it.

I think I remember Pro Team said a few years ago they where going to switch focus on only having rare or very disable type cars and not so much of the garden variety car. And sadly that leaves out most 64-67 SB coupes expect for the big tankers. Which is anther class all by it self. With that said there still is plenty of good SB coupes out there for sale. Just not at dealers. Good luck

In doing a Hemmings search, there are 316 1963-1967 Corvettes for sale, and 31 of them are the '64-'67 small block coupes.

                    The following is JMHO>

I believe that with the current trend of C2 Coupe scarcity that the Value of the Coupe's will equalize(At Some Point) with their Convertible
counterparts. Usually this does not happen but it this case it will. Larry

Good point I gave up on a project 1965 Coupe 365HP for the same reason.

The road salt is very costly to cars.
I keep reading about brake and fuel line requiring replacement on the Right Coast. I have never see it here on the wrong coast.

                          Washington.
In a big snowstorm in 2008, Seattle applied sand rather than rock salt for environmental reasons. Icy chaos ensured, and Mayor Greg Nickels said soon after that the city would switch to salt.
But it was too late, apparently: Nickels lost his job a few months later as voters turned him out of office in the spring primary.

A year later, the city added brine—a watery solution of a different kind of salt and magnesium chloride—to its toolkit.

Since then, the Seattle Department of Transportation has treated roads before snowstorms by spraying brine on them, and then salting them later.
"Pre-treating prevents the ice from building up, which means you have to use less salt down the road,” said spokesman Ethan Bergerson of Seattle Department of Transportation.

Good news it it doesn't snow enough her to do real damage to our cars unless you get into the hills and mountains.
And no one is driving their Corvette in it. My C6 would be a sled. LOL Wonder how long the front air dam would last?
In the 60's their wasn't the proliferation of four wheel drives like now days.

To every one caught in the recent snow storm be safe.

Seams to me the small block 67 coupe are rarer and harder to find by the day. convertibles by at least 10 to 1. Sort of hard to
believe all the BB 67 coupes and roadsters out there that are available. does'nt make sense, try finding a small block 67 coupe. good luck!
