    1966 License Plate Light Socket

Working through my last judging sheets I noticed a point deduct was given for my license plate light socket for non configuration - cut out. I checked (pic attached) and it looks exactly like the pic in the judging manual - dark discoloring on socket with the j type cutout for the pins on the bulb. Any advice? Thanks

You had a judge that thinks the reproduction part is the real deal. Your light is correct. Why not send the judge a link to this thread.

Just curious was the car judged at a chapter event?

That's right as rain. Should be no deduct. Judge's aren't perfect, but that's an obvious one to blow. Don't replace it, it's correctly configured. ARA

Thanks guys - it was at a regional meet. It was Top Flighted but I want to do a National Meet so I'm going through the sheets working on correcting issues. Stay safe!

Dan, did someone else own the car at that meet?

Yes, he had it judged the month before I purchased it from Greg Wyatt back in 2012.

Attached are 2 photos of the original rear lamp assembly that came off my 1966 Corvette during my 1980-1995 "frame off" restoration. I replaced it with a NOS Rear License Lamp (GM # 898005 in Gr. 2.700) that I bought at my local Chevrolet dealer in the 1982 for $22.61 with my 25% discount. The back side of the housing is stamped "GUIDE L1 60" and "MADE IN U.S.A.". The lease is embossed "GUIDE L1-60".
