66 AO smith underbody bracket question

Hi, i am looking to find out if all the metal brackets: seat belt , splash shield brackets , metal seat mounting plate etc where all painted the olive green primer or just some of them

On my '65 Dow Smith body, I did find the metal upright sheet metal part, just in front of the fuel tank, was orig. black. The paint I used under the floor under the seats was called ZINC Chromate. Wear a mask, even if you use from a "rattle can". More on this in other discussions.

Painted black by a prior owner, but some evidence of the orig. green can be seen. This is the UNDER BODY PART, under the front of the seat. NOT the black part I mentioned above.

John Hinckley wrote an article on the C2 AO Smith Corvette body. In the article there is good reference to what under body brackets were painted with the green zinc chromate primer. Do a search "The Other Corvette Body" if I remember right.

Hello Robert, the answer to your multiple choice question is...."just some of them".
Kidding aside,....I see you are a relatively new member to NCRS,...WELCOME to a very unique membership. I also own a AOSmith 66 coupe corvette, and as such, will gladly assist with your future numerous questions,...just send me a private email.
I strongly suggest you purchase the NCRS 1966 6th Edition Corvette Technical Information Manual and Judging Guide TIM&JG, as a fantastic source of information about our 66 corvettes. In fact you will find the answers you are looking for in this manual, see page 200, Chassis section 14, Underbody and Fuel tank,...the rear seat mount is secured to a natural finish heavy steel rectangular nut plate, the front seat mount is secured to a large formed sheet metal nut plate riveted to the underbody with steel rivets, finished with zinc chromate.
I would also suggest you search for AOSmith vs StLouis body differences, as they are numerous, ..spend the time reading and investigating,....the answers are all here,....yes it can be frustrating at times,...invest the time and effort,...as your learning process will become easier and more rewarding. Hang in there.
