1995 console lid how to repair loose edge ?

The console lid on my 95 has the right edge peeling up from rubbing against the passenger seat-
Has anybody done a good repair job? just glue it ?
    Thanks

    Bob,

I had an '87 with a console door that curled up along the edges and corners. I believe it distorted due to age, heat, and use. I replaced it with a reproduction door which looked fine.

You can try gluing it down. In my case, the door wasn't coming loose; it just lost its shape.

After restoration, avoid using the door as an armrest and/or cover it with a towel. These pieces just don't hold up well with real use. Ditto for door panels. It sounds odd, but I avoid touching or leaning on stuff while driving my Corvette. And unlike most folks, I definitely don't lay stuff on the shifter console.

I removed the lid from my car and disassembled the lid / hinge etc. It appears the foam has been glued to the passenger side of the console lid, the lid rubs against the edge of the passenger sport seat and tears the vinyl and foam apart from one another.. I scraped off what was left of the foam on the passenger edge of the lid, so the vinyl goes directly against the plastic inner frame of the lid. 5 minute epoxy seems to be working pretty good to hold it together. By removing the old foam the part that rubs against the passenger seat is about 1/3 inch thinner, so less rub and hopefully the epoxy will remain strong enough to get thru judging hopefully much longer, we shall see.
All goes to heck I will take a look at the repro, but would much rather stay AS DELIVERED

Sounds good. Have you tried adjusting the seat bolsters in?
