63 coolant expansion tank strap plating?

Hi, what is the correct plating for the 63 expansion tank mounting straps? (or are they bare? but then they would rust) I didn't see anything in the judging guide and can't tell if they are bare or maybe dull grey zinc plated? I just vibratory tumbled mine to get rid of the rust and some previous paint which was incorrect.

Also is there any list of corrections to the judging guide and/or correct finishes for paint and plating of items for a 63?

The straps are cad or zinc plated.
1963 only tank. Be sure to get the bolt in correctly.
Please confirm but it may go in from the bottom.

thanks, short strap has the nut welded to it, I'll have to look at the assy manual to see if it shows that detail of which is on top/bottom unless someone else knows for sure? thanks- Dan

ps- still looking for answer regarding corrections list for current judging manual and/or paint/plating items lists? thanks!

The short strap is on the top with the nut welded. It would be nearly impossible to attach the long strap if the short strap were on the bottom. It would be especially hard if you had hang-on AC.

there is no corrections addenda nor a paint/finishes list for any of the TIM&JGs. As JGs are revised corrections and more detail is added.
The 63/64 TIM&JG is in revision now (I think) but publication is still a ways off.

ok, thanks, I've been trying to get up to speed on 63's (just bought mine over the summer), but I've seen several posts on here refering to errors in the judging manual or just on something like these straps missing information on correct finish. I wasn't sure if there was an addendum the judges use to track these additions/errors/updates. Lots of info to keep track of for sure, thank goodness for the forums to ask and learn. thanks! Dan
