Hi Everyone, I am looking for suggestions on painting my original radio/sash knobs from my 66. The paint is missing from the knobs and I tried to repaint them myself, let's just say I'm no Michelangelo. I need some serious help as I try to use whatever original parts I can. Does anyone know anybody who restores/repaints these knobs? Thanks.

Rich,
Don't know if 66 are like 67, but I took 2' masking tape and covered the knob. Then used a exacto knife with a #7 blade and followed the indentation in the knob and removed the center piece of tape for painting.
Then used Rustolium satin and pulled the tape that protected the part that I didn't want painted.

wash the knobs with Dawn and hot water at least a few times. You must have some contamination. I did the same thing as Dom and all my knobs came perfect. I also used a zinc chromate primer prior to final paint application. Only a dusting of the paint is necessary, with a second light dusting if necessary. Simple and FUN job IMO. Try and again and let us know how they turn out....ARA- Top
