    1967 Convert - two questions

    1. for the rear quarter trim panel:

    UPC 1 ASM
    Sheet F14
    Item 6 part # 9420430

What is the finish of this screw? Black, plain, zinc?

    2. for the carpet area that covers that lower screw:
I have been informed that there should be as screw that holds the carpet flap up on the rear quarter trim panel hiding the screw in the first question. I am not, however able to find this screw in the AIM. My two trim panels do show the screw holes, not in the same location though.
So what screw and maybe washer was used, an what the finish? Similar to a screw and washer used on the kick panels in the front foot wells?

None of the catalog houses list them.

This screw is also used on the shoulder harness option and located behind and between the seats.

        On another note,
I am experiencing difficulty locating a source for the rivets that attach the deck lid striker shield to the body, all Ican find is the striker WITH the rivets. All I need is three lousy aluminum rivets. GM # 455626

Not sure on the screw maybe David has some clues. He's great at that.

Sorry can't help on those rivets but David may do it up on that too since you dropped the Part# here.

Now that I think of it I have a bunch of special rivets near that size IIRC and if we can get the true size/profile/etc I may have something to pass your way gratis.

Rivet # 455626 is 3/16 x 9/16 long -- shank .191//.186 head dia. .394/.356 if more specs if you need. This rivet conforms with aircraft tolerance. If you can not obtain locally try "Aircraft Spruce" a supplier I have used to obtain fasteners for building and repairing race damaged hydroplanes.
Can not begin to help on screw without a part number.

Keep in mind for any of us to help with these request types, it's always important to include the part# so it'll be easier to look up the specs.

The "Screw", Part #4816192 (Item 5 UPC 1 ASM Sheet F11), shows a s "SCREW" not "SCREW ASM", so I would surmise no conical washer, which would typically call it out as a assembly, but when David checks back in he may have the proper spec for us.

On most original cars I've seen and experience on the judging field or on restored cars(some done myself or assisting my restoration friends), the head of the screw is typically barely seen as it is hidden by the loops of the carpet.

And yes the same screw is used at 2 places on the A85 Shoulder Harness RPO(UPC A85 Sheet A2 Item#4) to hold the part# 3897390 "BUCKLE CONTAINER", which is a soft vinyl holder to capture the buckles of the harness behind and between the seats. Just for the sake of future reference, on cars I've restored I don't use the small screw under discussion here. I use a larger head integral flat washer screw either similar to the radio side panel screw or facsimile. Use of the small screw creates a tendency to pop the buckle holder off because the head is so small and the holder holes are quite big. You could use the small ones for judging but for functionality and PITA avoidance I'd use the larger head screws.
