I'm looking for a part number. Specifically from the spring of 1964 parts book, section 8.821, Corv. 63-4 hammer. Does it list 3819530 and/or 3859067? Or a different part number?

Re: Parts Book Effective Spring of 1964
Dan,
The 3859067 is the first design hammer used for 64, believe Noland's book has the print. The 3819530 was the second design and replaced the first on 1-65
Corvair Assembly Manual December 1964 lists the first hammer. Not a direct answer, hope it helps- Top

Re: Parts Book Effective Spring of 1964
I don't have a spring of spring of 64, but Chevrolet parts catalog 1938-1965 effective October 1, 1964 lists: 63-65 corvette w/ knock off wheels HAMMER ASSY.......3859067 1 6.50 Revised July 1, 1965 ( this is a large catalog). Did they issue these large parts and accessories catalogs every year?- Top

Yes, these parts books were issued every year. As near as I can tell two editions a year. First in the fall effective October 1st. I think all the parts books that I have are Fall issued. I have seen parts book with Spring effective dates. I don't recall the month.- Top

Re: Parts Book Effective Spring of 1964

Given that the GM #3819530 was discontinued from SERVICE in June, 1965 as Dave mentioned, any P&A catalog published prior to that date will show the 3819530 or both the 3819530 and the 3859067 from the time of the release of the 3859067 until its supersession of the 3819530. Any P&A catalog published on or after that date will show only the 3859067 until the time of its discontinuation or supersession. As a matter of fact, the October, 1964 edition of the P&A shows both part numbers and the July 1, 1965, as expected, catalogs only the 3859067. The 3859067 was available into the 2000's although I have not been able to come up with an exact date of its discontinuation.
If the GM #3871308 ever actually existed, it was never available as a SERVICE part.In Appreciation of John Hinckley- Top

You raise one of my question regarding the 3871308 AIM hammer. What might be different about what may be a production line only part number from 3859067 which was available in service before and after the 1965 "308" hammer.
I also wonder why the the Oct '64 parts book lists two different part number hammers for two year ranges.- Top

Re: Parts Book Effective Spring of 1964
Dan,
In my May 1, 1964 parts book, the hammer is not listed in that section or in any other section that I can find.
