Headlight switch numbers

I found 2 headlight switches at the back of a mostly never searched cabinet.
the numbers are:

1. 1995179 D1588 Gr.2.485 (stamped made in USA on bottom)

2. 1995217 D1596A Gr.2.485 (nothing stamped on bottom)

Anyone know what cars these go to

I can't help you with those numbers, but for reference P/N 1995131 is a headlight switch for a 1964 - 1966 midyear.

Surprised Joe L hasn’t responded! Interesting to note, I too found some on eBay but when I found one on Amazon their software says it fits my 67. Dunno, would be interesting to see if they fit as my original was toasted from a poor harness connection and I don’t like the reproduction. Would be good to buy one of the eBay switches if they are the same. Some of the prices are fair for NOS.

The part #1995179 head light switch is listed in my '72 Corvette P & A catalog with application for 1964 -67 Corvette. This number also replaces earlier part numbers of 1995131, 1995149, and 1995164. The other number #1995217 requires some more research.

Using e-bay references is like believing what every seller wants you to believe. Ever been at a Swap Meet and asked a seller about an item "What's it fit?" and received a reply "What do you want it to fit"? Better to Google the part #, Group # and perhaps add "Chevrolet" to get an answer. Even then, Beware of the "replaces" as stated by Ray above - if it's a judged item, you may NOT have found a "pearl" due to some appearance facet.

The GM #1995217, aka Delco D1506A, is applicable to 1974+ Novas and Chevelles as well as 1975+ Monzas and Vegas. It has a HUGE number of other GM applications including Cadillac, GMC, Oldsmobile and Pontiac. No Corvette applications, though. It was replaced by GM #19245092.
