The FI distributor fits to the FI base manifold using a thick-ring-spacer (and gaskets). This spacer has a small pin protruding from upper/lower faces. This pin seems to be designed to fit in a factory pinhole in the manifold, and a slot in the distributor body. Evidently this is to lock the distributor position for correct alignment of the FI pump drive able to the FI unit.
Problem is my manifold lacks a factory pin hole to receive the lower spacer pin. It is the correct #2333769 manifold, and in very good unmolested condition.
Lacking experience with FI, I'm mystified. Did the factory neglect to drill the pinhole in this manifold? Seems unlikely, but maybe not. Or is there a piece missing that makes this work? My simple solution would be to drill the needed pinhole, but exactly where? Looks like it should be about the 10 o'clock position. But I hesitate on this without confirmation from a FI guru that a pin hole should be drilled.....or that I am missing something else here for fitment.
