    C2 Carpet

First, Thanks to all the members who answered my question on factory primers used in 1967. Now, I need advise on who is making the most authentic carpet ( by NCRS Top Flight standards ) for my 67 coupe restoration. Is it Auto Custom Carpets, Al Knoch, or someone else? Thanks.

    Re: C2 Carpet

When I was searching for green 67 carpets and getting samples from as many vendors as I could find, I concluded that all the vendors were selling the same carpet made by ACC. No one had the correct dark green color, but the ACC color was very attractive. Rock Auto had the best price on ACC carpet. The only difference between the vendors including Al Knock was their price for the same ACC carpets which were good quality but the wrong color and weave pattern. Good luck.

I too have spent hours trying to match with samples from all vendors. No one can do it. Its either wrong shades or pile, etc. The weave is the killer. Its angled, and suppliers will loose much material if they considered doing it.

The only way to get it right is to locate original, take it apart, repair it, then dye it, then rebind and resew it with the correct different color threads(top and bobbin).

It has been done, but as you can imagine, time consuming and costly.

edit.... Here's a example. It's a 56 with original carpet. Al Knoch replacement. I have a '67 original example too but can't locate it right now.

Note Weave pattern at angle. The replacement is the AK.
