1970 LT1 Rubber Fuel Line Routing

Can anyone assist me with some pictures or diagrams of how the rubber fuel line is routed, on a 1970 LT1, from the point that the metal fuel line that runs along the frame stops very close to the fuel pump and the rubber fuel line continues to the fuel pump inlet?

    Thanks

Jim that rubber hose is a S shape on my 72 . I don’t think you can make a typical make those bends, the venders must sell them, the last time I brought them it was Doc Rebuild. I don’t think he’s reopened yet.

My January 29, 1970 LT1 did not come with that S shaped fuel line, but it became available at the parts counter later in the year. I removed the kinked original fuel line and installed the S shaped line. The Holley was much happier. In judging on my car that change was never detected. Now that the cat is out of the bag, I expect the 1970-72 Chassis judges will be on to it whenever judging is back.

If you are using the matrix system the configuration of that hose will not even amount to 1 point. Your challenge is to determine when St Louis gave up on the original kinked hose and went to the S-hose. Good luck!

I did not check the JG, but having read it dozens of times, I don’t think it mentions it.

I doubt it is in the TIM&JG. This question made it bubble up in my mind. Wait until you try to remember things from 50 years ago.

I thought late 1970, but I won't argue with your recollection. Find a part number for the S hose and Joe L can likely tell us when it was introduced into the parts system. Of course PRODUCTION is the real question. My thinking was that there are not likely many/any cars with the original fuel line still installed. Between alcohol in the fuel now and the kink in the hose those original non molded hoses are all but extinct. We need the cars; not our memories. Just like oil filters.

                      Yes, original hose.
I'll have to check photos in the short term. It's not on a lift.

No lift needed. The fuel pump soft lines are visible from the top.
